Walking in Higashi Honganji(東本願寺)-Toru Café

I went to Higashi Honganji(東本願寺) where can see Kyoto-Tower that day.

Higashi Honganji(東本願寺) and Nishi Honganji (西本願寺) are two of great temples in Kyoto City, and they are also the biggest Buddha’s movement.

It’s one of spot in Kyoto to residents and visitors normally.

From appearance, it looks like the same, however; Originally, Higashi Honganji got Otani-ha(Shinshu Otani-ha), officially named "Jodo Shinshu temple".

Nishi Honganji represents Pure Lang Buddhism, is one of a school of Jodo Shinshu, and called “western temple of the Original Vow.”

Established in 1602 by the Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu. Ieyasu split the main Honganji in Kyoto into two temples, Nishi Hongan-ji and Higashi Hongan-ji, in order to diminish the power of the Jōdo Shinshu sect.[1] Nishi Hongan-ji is listed as one of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Goeido is one of three major wooden buildings in Kyoto and also one of the world’s largest ones.

It stacked into the main hall of 927 tatami, and it put a statue of Shinran Shonin(親鸞聖人), the founder of the movement.

Then, the Deity Amidado, located in the south of Goeido, is settled in the Buddhist hall where is put Zen sect.

From the main hall, you have to take off the shoes, you can touch the traces of history by barefoot.

Besides, you need to remember the entrance time, and it doesn’t take admission fee.

March to October 5:50 am ~ 17:30 pm.

Today I walk to Toru Café where is set in the north side of higashi hongaji.

This shop made own roasted coffee, but sell it also. ♪

The building of Toru coffee is a renovation one, * and it is also before I enter in our company.

This is the appearance of shop.

It is mostly particularly the place that is put the wooden as the decoration in the room.

What’s the best is that you can only see outside, but it doesn’t take in inside.

When I enter inside, it is simple but elegant.

There are two side separately to seat here, or another side is for counter.

And there are collections inside the corner.

They also have breakfast set, and it’s cheap and delicious.

However, this time I ordered Macha Latte.

Sugar-free Matcha was just right, because the atmosphere inside the store seems to be slow.
